Why do grocery manufacturers offer close-out products?

Is the product in the same condition as the product in the supermarkets?

Does Amelia's offer any weekly specials?

How can I pay for my groceries?

Q.: Why do grocery manufacturers offer close-out products?

Just like clothing and electronics manufacturers, grocery manufacturers also have overstocks and product seconds.  Something as simple as a package change can create the need to "close-out" a product.  The manufacturers do not want to sell this product through the regular supermarkets, so they sell it to us at dramatically discounted prices.  You can save 70% or more on many of your grocery products.  Back to the top of the page.

Q.: Is the product in the same condition as the product in the supermarkets?

Yes, in most cases it is the same premium quality as the product that you find in your supermarket.  These products are marked with a First Quality shelf sign.  Products that are not premium will be marked Factory Markdowns or Thrift Factory.  Markdowns are products manufactured as first quality, however, due to minor product imperfections they may not meet factory specifications.  Thrift products are post dated or slightly damaged items.  They are accepted products but may be past their peak freshness.  We are so confident in the quality of our merchandise that we offer a 100% money-back guarantee.

Q.: Does Amelia's offer any weekly specials?

Yes, but in reality everything on the store is on special.  If it's not a great deal, we don't buy it.  In fact, our prices are so low that a few manufacturers require that we do not advertise their name and do not accept coupons for their products.  We do, however, offer special savings on several products every two weeks.  You can find out about these biweekly specials by going to our Specials Page, by calling our toll-free number 1-877-AMELIAS (1-877-263-5427), or by picking up one of our in-store flyers when you stop by our store.  We also advertise on WIOV, WDAC, WLAN, and Y-102 and for extra special sales events, look for our print ads in the Sunday edition of The Lancaster New Era and The Reading Eagle.

Because we are an outlet, our product selection is always changing, so be sure to stop in often and see what's new.

Q.: How can I pay for my groceries?

We accept cash, of course.  But we also accept checks (with i.d.), Visa, MasterCard, PA EBT, Quest or by debit with your ATM card.  Back to the top of the page.
